Mont Blanc 144 1950s version. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this pen, note that its size is between thje modern 144 and 146 models. The nib on this pen is a two-tone one, correct for the pen. It is a fine nib, as indicated on the piston knob. It writes a very nice, smooth, wet line and has a decent amount of flex; this nib is a world apart from modern MB nibs. It is far more responsive and flexible than anything one couold buy today (except, perhaps, the new flexible nib MB produced to solve exactly this problem).
Some color loss to the plastic barrel is noted: this is common for this model, so much so, that some claim that their fully discolored 144s are demonstrators despite the fact that MB never made a demonstrator pen.
The pen sports a brass version of the piston mechanism making it quite end heavy.
I note that there are some very shallow scratches to the cap and piston filler knob. NO gold plate loss to the metal parts.
Capped length 132mm, max cap thickness 14mm, center of section diameter 10mm.
