These LIFE Co. letter-writing pads are made with that beautifully-smooth L Writing Paper, made exclusively by LIFE themselves in Japan.
There is something truly unique about this paper, as it almost seems to defy the papery-rules of the physical universe... somehow being both immaculately smooth yet also having a wonderful little bit of tooth that almost feels al dente, so to speak, with just a "crunchy little bite" of texture under the nib that lends itself to a beautiful level of precision and awareness of exactly what interactions are happening between your pen and your paper. With large rules for using big words in fancy script for heartfelt letters, this A5 size pad has 30 sheets of bright white 85 GSM paper with 10mm-spaced horizontal rules. Each sheet is decorated beatifully around the borders of the page with pretty filagree pattern.
